Jesus and me....

Statutory Warning: Please think twice before reading this, I don't take any responsibility of the consequences.

"He is the only man ever born by way of God putting a seed in the womb of a virgin (Matt. 1:18; Luke 1:35). God put a perfect seed in the womb of Mary so that Jesus would be born without the sin nature that every other human being inherited from the First Adam."

"He is the only man who is called “the Last Adam” (1 Cor. 15:45). As the only-begotten Son of God, Jesus was the genetic equivalent to the first “Son of God,” Adam (Luke 3:38). As the only man born without inherent sin."

Caution: The words below are just my thoughts; they don't represent any community in general. I don't intend to hurt anybody's religious sentiments.

The two pieces of text above I never understood, and nor did I ever understand the concept of original sin. What is so sinning about the natural birth of human being? Is the anguish a woman bears while giving birth sinning (or as they it is penance for the original sin)? Or is the act that leads to birth sinning.

Why can’t MY GOD be as I am…..a Human being?

A Human Being who stood out, because of his deeds and his qualities, a human being who loved one and all.
That is what is Jesus for me; not somebody who was unique because he was born to a virgin. I would probably never believe in this theory of his unusual birth, even if the gospels say so.

Let's just remember what he taught us ,not what they think of him.

well, thr's one thing i can say abt it. 'What is so sinning about the natural birth of human being?' one explanation is tht only those who hv sinned get sent to earth to repent for their sins. sort of like a prison. if they attain salvation here, they are admitted back into heaven. so in tht sense, being born is a sin. but not everyone can take this explanation at face value. but original sin, i think, refers to the act of eve eating the forbidden fruit from the tree of knowledge. well, i do not know if this is a correct analogy, but i find it very similar to a hypothesis i read in 'a brief history of time'. it said tht as soon as mankind learns abt how the universe was created, n whether thr is a supreme creator, civilisation will be wiped, n everything will start afresh. i read this a long time ago, so i only remember it quite vaguely. so, in some way, it means tht man was not s'posed to hv knowledge.

well,well...anubhav thats a debatable post that you have out here....the 'sin' that is mentioned about is not 'original sin'. Original sin is,as spark said the act of eve eating the fruit of the tree of knowledge, succumbing to the temptation of satan. I slightly disagree with spark on his explanation, as in christian belief there is no concenpt of a cycle of rebirths, until you achieve nirvana. Salvation is found in your belief, actions and repentance to the trinity(the Father,Son and the Holy spirit). It is believed in christian theology that men are inherantly sinners,by their thoughts, actions and deed (noteworthy that Jesus came to redeem mankind of his sins). And when a human child is born,he inherits the blood of his sinned parents, thus even he becomes a sinner. That is a possible explanation. The beauty of christian belief is that, by submitting yourself to God,realising and repenting for your sins you can attain salvation.

yes the sin metioned in extracts from gospels is inherent sin ...but if u realise it is the original sin which lead to the inherent sin
and christ was born without inherent sin because he was born to virgin....

For me sins are not inherited....Your being a sinner or not should depend on your deeds not somebody else's..dont know about blood being pure or not but i believe that every soul is pure at the time of birth.

I have not read brief history of time but , i do think that if science clears the enigma about creation of universe..it might wipe off the gods created by man to explain the inexplicable...

I am not imposing my beliefs on anybody, but to me god is
not mankind's creation, but a man himself ,a man with exceptional deeds.

ur comment reminds me of a quote i read somewhr. it goes like this...
'God is either an Abstraction or a Failed Genius of our Times. If the Former is True, then God is Man's Biggest Folly. If the Latter is True, then Man is God's Biggest Folly.' thought-provoking, isn't it?
